"Thanksgiving, after all, is a word of action." - W.J. Cameron

I really could go on and on about the blessings in my life. I used to say that I was lucky and then my aunt Peggy said "no, blessed" and I like that better. I am beyond blessed with a beautiful life and beautiful people that I love to share that life with.

These are just a few things I am so thankful for.

My job, it is stressful and a little overwhelming at times, but I am lucky to have a job. Many people don't and I am thankful that I do. And I really care about the people that I work with. They are my friends and I get to spend a great deal of time with them.

My sweet Sushi, who is thriving. She cuddles with me and makes me laugh. And I love to rub my face against her super soft fur.

My life-long girlfriends, who have known me since before I even knew myself. They have touched my life and I love them dearly. They have married men and had children and I have loved seeing all of this. I learn from their experiences. We have grown up together and it is a great thing to be able to hold on to each other and celebrate each other's victories and milestones. Each one of them has taught me so much and I look forward to raising my family alongside them. (And they have agreed to be in my wedding. I love anyone who will agree to be a bridesmaid.)

My cousins, not everyone gets to grow up with their cousins, but I did. I love them. I cherish the memories we have. I look forward to the amazing moments to come.

My aunts and uncles. They are good people, whom I love. They are funny. I am especially thankful for my aunt Peggy. I love her. She makes me dinner once a week and we have built a wonderful friendship. She is a true blessing in my life.

My sister. She is amazing. It is no small thing that she is in my corner always. I love her. I would not be the woman I am today without her. She is my best friend. She is my second self. And she married a great man. I am grateful for my brother-in-law. He is a good man who is good to our family. I am so happy Vickie married him. I always worried about my sister's heart (in the figurative sense) and since Paul and her have been together I no longer worry. He takes such good care of her heart. He loves her and I am so thankful for that.

My parents, they are my best friends. They still take good care of me, even though they are no longer obligated. I respect them. They teach me everyday. I am so grateful that I get to be their daughter.

My fiance. His smile lights my heart. His happiness is my happiness. His hurt is my hurt. He makes me laugh. Not the fake laugh, but the deep belly laugh that makes your eyes water. Everyday after work he asks me about my stress level and then says "we will continue to monitor this situation" and every time I laugh. He is a good man who takes good care of his family. My dad always told me you should judge a man by the way they treat their family and that was good advice. I know I will always be safe with Rodger because he is loyal to his family. I am grateful that a little over six years ago I met him. I will never take that for granted. We have built a life together and I am so thankful.

There you go again, Katie, with your beautiful thoughts and words. Dad and I are so thankful for you and all of the happiness you have brought to all of us. One can never say how thankful they are for their family and friends enough.

Well, I don't even know where to start to comment on this one...except you continue to blow me away with your ability to express yourself in words. I think God is trying to tell you something and I think that something may be that you should think about how you can use your writing talents as a career. You are definitely gifted and have something that most people don't. I say whatever your heart is telling you to do, you should go for it!
