100 Most Popular Baby Names of 2008

I found this list on the Baby Center website. Why am I looking at that website? There was a link about the popular names on the Celebrity Baby Blog so I clicked over to it. Celebrity Baby Blog sounds more like me than the Baby Center right?

Even though I have no babies I love reading about and discussing baby names. Pathetic? Probably. Do I care? No.

Here is the list and I bolded the ones I like and put some notes next to them.

Hysterical. Not sure what to say except thanks since I would not get away with looking up this list but now I have easy access and can look at it all I want.

I love Emma and Lucy as well. I also like Caden, but not for the same reason as you.

OH and don't name your kid after you, confusing for more reasons than one.

ah, i love baby names too. don't worry, i was obsessed with baby names long before i even thought about having children. Or getting married for that matter. I think it's normal. ;)

I have lots of favorites...I should get my baby-name book and look them up. Because I can't think of any right now, except that I like Nola and Astrid for girls and Ezra and Axel for boys.

(I tend to like less common names if that's not obvious...lol...although Ezra is pretty popular. Astrid and Axel are getting there.)

Nola is very pretty. I like Nolan too. There are a lot of names I like that aren't on the list. Axel is cool, sounds ruggid. And Astrid is pretty but now when I hear it I always think of Jan's baby on The Office and Michael kept calling her Asturd. But it's very pretty.

Lately I like Everly. But that has been nixed. I really like Emmy, which is my Grandma's name and also Augusta, another family name. It's hard because you don't know what will be real popular until a couple of months after you name your baby. I don't think my parents knew how popular Katie was.

And mostly I come up with girl's names.

Yesss, still on the list.

Um, since when is Jayden the #2 boy's name? I know no Jaydens.

I don't know any Jaydens either.

I always said I would never name my babies anything too popular because of the horror of being Jennifer (the number one girls name from 1977 to 1985). However, every name I have used or want to use in right in the top. Ryan was in the top five in 1999.
