Two things I say too often (as my mom, Vickie, and Jenn will agree):
"Oprah says...."
"My therapist says...."
And then there was yesterday when I told my therapist "Oprah says you teach people how to treat you."
Even I had to laugh.
But in my defense Oprah and my therapist say amazing things.
And since we are on the topic, here are a few gems from Oprah for this beautiful Friday.
"'Forgiveness' is giving up the hope that the past could have been any different."
"We teach what we most need to learn."
And then a couple of things she has shared, that I love, that others have said.
"Anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die." (A Buddhist saying) Jenn and I decided this was a game changer.
"When you know better, you do better." -Maya Angelou
And then Oprah shared this recently about herself and her work, "I'm about evolving people to the point where they can share more love."
I love Oprah and my therapist.
I think I may love my therapist a bit too much. She practically has to throw me out the door when my hour is up. And yesterday when she said she would call to confirm my next appointment I may have told her that she better or I will hunt her down.
It's a delicate time, what with Oprah's show ending this month.
After re-reading this, maybe the blog post title should have just been "Hot Mess".

Hot Mess would have worked just as well... I love Oprah as well, but not my therapist. And yes you say My therapist.. and Oprah says... quite a bit.
But it could be worse, could be Lindsey Lohan or Paris Hilton says, or last night on Teen Mom. I would have to say all in all, not a bad perspective to pull from.
