I have decided I need pagers/signal devices on pretty much everything in my life- my phone (at least I can call it, which I do on a daily basis), my TV remotes, car keys, house keys, phone charger, id, debit cards, shoes, etc. I just can't ever seem to find things when I need them. And the funny thing is I do sort of assign my stuff a place and that is pretty much the last place I look for it, and to my surprise sometimes it is there. I need to get better at putting stuff in its proper spot.
This is just me, I get a little absentminded when it comes to this stuff. It's a lovable trait, I think. But I could see how it could be annoying. Rodger can't understand how things get lost in my purse. But it's big, so there are a lot of spaces to search.
This weekend when we were in San Diego for a little girls pre-wedding weekend for Vickie I really topped myself. I didn't want to carry my purse so I put my phone, debit card, and cash in my pocket and carried my camera. It wasn't until we took a $25 cab ride and got to the lounge at the top of the Hyatt hotel (amazing view of San Diego) that I realized I didn't bring my i.d. After a small announcement to the entire bar that I forgot it, it was decided that we would have to have it to get into where we were going. What was I thinking? Not at one point while I was getting ready did I think about bringing my i.d. So not wanting to take another $50 cab ride (round trip) Kelly called her husband, who was in the area, and he drove me back to the hotel. Very kind of him. I am pretty sure that the Valet guy at the hotel thought I picked someone up because he said "didn't you leave here in a cab" and then "what happened to the rest of your friends?" Look buddy, this is how I roll, okay?
So I need to work on not being so clueless when it comes to organizing myself.
P.S. Did I end up needing my i.d.? Nope, we ended the night at a sushi place.
"We have to go" : ) I love my sister. She is going to be a beautiful bride!

Sounds like a fun adventure!
Wow, Katie. I try my best to organize you, but I guess its just not taking!
I constantly lose things like that too. I've had to develop a mantra to say in the morning so that I'm sure not to forget any of the essentials. "Phone, wallet, keys, lunch, phone, wallet, keys, lunch." Of course this doesn't help when the keys are still in the car and the phone is in the pocket of the pants I wore yesterday that somehow ended up under my jacket on the chair in the living room. Oh and then there was the time I left my credit card in the pocket of a jacket I hardly wear instead of oh-so-simply putting it BACK IN MY WALLET.
The upside is that I've found 2 $20 bills in the last week in random pockets.
So, I feel your pain.
