This past weekend Rodger and I took our 4th annual trip to San Diego. The first two years we stayed two nights and last year and this year we just stayed one night.
We walked to Seaside Village by Downtown San Diego and looked in the little stores there. There is this one Christmas store that has a cat that lives there. The first year we went there were two cats (brothers- Jack and Max) but then last year I noticed that there was only one cat. The girl working in the store told me that Jack passed away. So now there is only Max and I look forward to seeing him every year. I think it may be time for him to get a bigger bed. I know I am partial when it comes to cats but isn't he so cute? There was also a small duck walking in and out of the same store from his little pond. Kind of weird but cute.

There is an old aircraft carrier that sits in the bay by downtown and every year we go there are more memorials. This year they had built a Bob Hope Memorial. It is really neat with the service men and women in a semi circle as if to show them watching Bob Hope perform on one of the USO Tours.

Saturday night we went to Old Town San Diego. We took the train/trolley this year and that was quite the debacle. I just think that mass transit and I don't mix but we made it there and back in one piece so that's all that matters. In Old Town we went to the Coyote Cafe where they make the best home made tortillas. Normally I get the carne asada steak but because of the teeth situation I got chicken, which was also good. But Rodger got the carne asada and I was a little jealous. But let me tell you these tortillas are not to be believed. If you are ever down there you must try them.
Sunday we met my cousin, Matt, for lunch at a little cafe by the beach. The weather was perfect. It was so great to see Matt and catch up. It's so strange not to see him very much since we pretty much grew up together but when we do get to see each other it feels like no time has passed.
Rodger and I hung out a little at the beach afterwards and then drove home. Can you believe how beautiful it is? Matt only lives like 5 minutes from the beach in the below picture. How lucky is he? There were a lot of people taking advantage of the great weather. I guess it was the first really nice weekend there since last summer.

very fun and nice weekend. Please part of all, I didn't have to take the picture. We should definitely go to Coronado next time.
Glad you had a good time. Maybe for the fifth annual trip you should see what the Hotel Coronado is like. It is on Coronado Island. Just a thought.
My grandma lived on Coronado, and the Hotel Coronado is pretty awesome (though expensive). Fun to go look around - lots of old movies were filmed there and stuff. The whole island is really nice, but I think the nightlife and stuff is better in downtown SD.
