-that I am getting old if I can spend two hours of my Saturday night genuinely interested in watching the presidential debates. (Granted Rodger and I were flipping stations but we watched the majority of it)
-that Mitt Romney gets picked on the most by the other Republican candidates, probably because he has the most new ideas.
-that no matter what question McCain is asked the word "terrorism" will be in the answer.
-that I want Fred Thompson to come back to "Law and Order". He will never be elected anyways.
-I think Ron Paul meant to run as a Democrat.
-it bothers me (still) a great deal to listen to a room of older men discuss being pro-life. How has this choice ever personally affected them?
-that just because you co-write an Amnesty Bill and the bill is named after you doesn't mean that you support amnesty.
-you are not allowed to change your opinion or position on any issue.
-Hillary Clinton does have a sense of humor.
-Edwards can answer a question without his wife interjecting.
-Obama loves the word "change".
-it's definitely not cool to like George Bush.
-you probably can't trust politicians but if I have to choose one to trust it would be Obama.

Wow, I'm impressed - you did learn a lot, surely you weren't being sarcastic about anything you learned, were you? I think Hillary may be in serious trouble, just heard she is bring in James Carville from the old Clinton White House days. If she really wants change, why is she hanging on to old people? Maybe I'm not the most objective person to ask about Hillary.
I am also impressed. I will admit that the bulk of my own experience with debates has been reports on NPR! Sad isn't it! I need to get caught up on that before the VA primaries.
I have to disagree about Ron Paul though, mainly because my husband is a Libertarian (he says he's Independent but really it's Libertarian). Ron Paul wouldn't make it as a Democrat because he's so anti-taxes!
well i have to say that i was not sure what to expect by this blog, but i was more than pleasantly surprised. i agree on all things said especially the one about hillary having a sense of humor, otherwise how do you explain staying in her marriage through what we can now call "the rough times." i also have become quite the avid npr listener, and i have to say that it makes me feel older than i already am.
Oh man katie I love this post!!! In very un-Alex fashion, I've watched hardly any of the debates, but i'm with you on Obama based on what I know. OMG I'm so excited to vote...I'm such a nerd.
